In the midst of unprecedented growth, Mickey Correa, LCSW, joins Blanton-Peale as Chief Program Officer.
Mickey will lead the development of new and innovative programmatic initiatives that complement Blanton-Peale’s core programs and address the mental health needs of people representing the full diversity of NYC.
In Mickey’s role, he will provide oversight to and strengthen the synergy among Blanton-Peale’s core areas of programming, including our robust and growing clinic that now provides 3,500 session per month of affordable holistic therapy, our newly revitalized Psychoanalytic Training Program, and our Korean Care and Counseling Program with some 100 students who are learning to integrate mental and spiritual wellbeing.
Mickey comes to this role with 15 years’ experience as a clinician, educator, manager and clergy person. He brings a deep commitment to and years of experience promoting wellness among diverse communities. For the past four years, Mickey has coordinated Addiction and Mental Health Services at the United Federation of Teachers, with prior clinical and supervisory experience at the Roberto Clemente Center, as well as Good Shepherd Services’ Family Reception Center. He serves as an adjunct lecturer at the City College of New York as well as Fordham’s Graduate School of Social Service. He also is appointed clergy at Christ Church United Methodist, leading their bilingual campus in Washington Heights. Mickey has an MSW from Fordham, a Master of Divinity from NY Theological Seminary, and has received post-graduate training in psychodynamic and sensorimotor psychotherapy.
